THE FOUNDER RETURNS, IN IMAGINATION

An arcade between past and present.

Munshi Newal Kishore founded the press in Lucknow in 1858. Here, the founder figure from our virtual museum becomes a companion to your visit beside the garden.

This is an artistic reconstruction, not recorded footage or a recreation of an authenticated incident. Explore his story in the virtual museum.

Try it at Le Press

Stand still in a clear viewing area, away from doors and passing shoppers.
Tap “Meet Munshiji in AR” on a supported phone and allow camera access when asked.
Find a clear floor beside the arcade. Rotate Munshiji to face you, and stay clear of doors and passing visitors.

The camera opens only after you choose AR. Our page does not record or upload camera footage.

Life-size placement: choose a clear floor beside the verandah. The supplied avatar animates in place; it is not automatically anchored to the building. Anatomical height is 1.778 m (5 ft 10 in), with the turban above it.

On compatible Android browsers, enter camera AR. On supported iPhones, Quick Look opens the standing model; animation support varies by viewer. Walk and Idle are available in this page’s 3D view and compatible WebXR sessions.
